BT Forklifts were established in Sweden in 1946, with a long history and a focus on innovation and quality. BT produced the first hydraulic pallet truck in 1947.

BT became the first European standard pallet and continued to innovate with the hydraulic pallet truck designed by Rune Monö extending to the first driverless material handling vehicle in the 1970s and the high-lift truck with a tilting operator compartment in 1992.

BT in Thialand

BT Midland is a joint venture established in Thailand in 1997 between BT Industries Sweden and Midland Corporation, Material handling equipment brands BT and Raymond, along with Crawford doors and racking systems, are distributed and serviced nationwide in Thailand.

After being established in 1946 in Sweden, it grew to become one of the largest manufacturers of warehouse forklifts in the world. BT Industries expanded its operations through the acquisition of Raymond Corporation, one of the major manufacturers of electric forklifts for large warehouses in the United States and Cesab which is one of the leading manufacturers of counter-balance forklifts from Italy. In 2000 , BT Industries Limited was acquired and became a part of Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) In Nagoya, Japan, and after the merger, it has been considered the largest material handling company in the world up to the present day, in the year 2021, TICO acquired the majority of shares (95%) of BT Midland, making it a subsidiary of TICO.
